Summer Christmas Table
Christmas in the sunshine is all about long lazy lunches that spill into the afternoon and desserts piled high with Summer fruit.
This year, we’ve styled a festive table that feels relaxed, tropical, and quietly sophisticated.
Inspired by the warm summer sun, the soft golden accents of our Vivienne tablecloth create an elegant foundation that instantly elevates the scene without feeling too formal. The intricate design adds a layer of texture and movement, perfectly complementing fresh food and tropical touches.
Styling the Table: Fresh, Relaxed, and Beautifully Balanced
This setting is all about easy layers. Here’s how to bring it to life:
- Start with the tablecloth, this elevates a plain table by adding subtle pattern and sophistication. The Vivienne Block Printed Tablecloth is available in several lengths, as well as a round option, to suit the size and shape of your table.
- With the tablecloth in place, add a layer of lush greenery down the table centre using our Cypress garland. Fresh pineapples placed along the garland add height, as well as delicious fragrance, to the setting.
- Dinner candles are a must for special celebrations, adding height, elegance and soft golden light. Our Duchess Brass Candle Holders are classic and perfect to have on hand for any occasion. Choose your favourite candle colour - for this look we chose ivory tapers, placed along the table between the pineapples.
- Textures make a big difference; Hand-woven placemats set the place for your guest, making them feel welcome, while linen napkins are soft and refined.
- Coloured glass is a beautiful accent for Summer entertaining. If you like to serve bubbles and cocktails, try elevating your collection with new and unexpected shapes such as our beautiful Lou Coup Glasses.
- Finally, add a few sparkly decorations as you wish and you'll be ready to celebrate!
The result? A table that feels curated yet effortless, inviting guests to linger long after the last slice of pavlova has disappeared.
Make your own pineapple flower pavlova.
Light and sweet, pavlova surely is the ultimate Australian Christmas dessert!
No matter if you make it from scratch to buy a pre-made pavlova shell, top it with fresh cream and fruit of your choice and you have a winner for your Christmas table.
To make pineapple flowers like ours, simply cut away the pineapple peel and slice thinly.
Place the pineapple pieces onto lined baking trays and dry slowly in a low-temperature oven for a few hours. As the pieces cool, gently press in the middle of each and shape to form flowers. The result is natural, edible decorations that add a Summer twist to your pavlova.
