Hardwood floors - Vinyl mats are ideal for hardwood floors and are often mistaken for a tiled inlay. Not only do they look great against the wood they can also help to protect the hardwood from everyday wear and tear. Vinyl floor mats can also be used to cover any areas of wood that may be showing signs of wear or damage.
Tiled floors - These vinyl mats are suitable for use on tiled floors however we don’t recommend them for areas of high water use such as poolside, bathroom or exposed terraces.
Polished concrete - Our mats are great for concrete floors. The tiled design look just like a custom made tile inlay without the expense or commitment! You can move the mat around as often as you like.
Carpet floors - We generally do not recommend vinyl floor mats for use on carpeted floors as they could become slippery underfoot. Our vinyl mats work best with a hard, flat, even surface like hardwood floors or concrete.
Vinyl floor mats are a good option for use in the kitchen. A lot of our customers choose vinyl rugs to put in front of the sink, stove or oven.
If you’re looking for a vinyl kitchen mat the most popular sizes are 60x80cm and 68x120cm. You could also use a longer, vinyl floor mat runner. These long mats are fabulous for galley kitchens or kitchens with a large island bench.
Vinyl kitchen mats are also a great choice as they are very easy to clean. This makes vinyl mats a great option for use under your child's high chair too!
Beija Flor vinyl mats are ideal hallway runners. Most of our designs are available in runner sizes of 80x195cm or 80x240cm. If you’re looking for something longer our Chess Vinyl Mat Runner is available in four lengths. Each measures 80cm wide with options of 1 metre to 4 metres in length.
If you need something longer again you can put multiple mats end to end to create the look of one extra long hallway runner.
One of the reasons we love our Beija Flor vinyl mats so much is because they are so easy to clean. Simply wash the mat with soap and water on both sides and leave to dry. You can use a mop, a sponge or a colour-free cloth. Be sure to stay away from any harsh or abrasive cleaning products as these may damage the surface of your vinyl mat.
That’s one of the best things about these vinyl mats. They require no special installation at all.
All you have to do is unroll the mat and lay it on the floor. They lay completely flat and don’t wrinkle. Because they don’t need any special installation or adhesives you can move the mat from place to place as you please.
When you unroll your mat, if it doesn't flatten straight away, pop it in the sun for a few minutes. The vinyl will soften quickly and lay flat.
Our vinyl mats are recommended for indoor use only.
Our harsh Australian sun may fade the design and rain can cause the mats to become slippery.
However, these mats would be fine used in a well covered outdoor area like a patio or verandah as long as there is no exposure to the elements.
Do not drag heavy furniture across the vinyl rug.
Do not fold your mat. Leave flat or rolled for storage.
Keep out of direct sunlight as this may cause colours to fade.
Take care in wet environments.
An easy way to determine which size mat would be best for your space is to measure the size in paper or simply use tape on the floor.
You’re also welcome to bring your measurements into our Balmain store and our staff can help give you an idea of which size would be best for you.
