How to get the most out of your dinner candles.

Several of our dinner candles are smokeless, dripless and burn for approximately 7 hours. Follow these simple steps to ensure you get the most out of your taper candles.
- Keep your candles away from drafts. This will ensure your candle burns correctly and will prevent it from dripping. This also allows the candle to burn more slowly.  
- Before lighting your dinner candle trim the wick to approx 1cm in height. This helps prevent the candle from letting off excess smoke. Having a nicely trimmed wick on your taper candles also helps your candle burn at its ideal speed. If the wick is too long it creates a bigger flame and will melt the wax faster than intended. 
- Stop burning your taper candle before it reaches the candle holder. This will allow you to easily remove your candle from the candlestick. 
- Never to leave a burning candle unattended.

Fitting a taper candle in a candle holder or candelabra. 

Our dinner candles are designed to fit standard candlesticks however sometimes you might need a little extra help to get them to stay up straight or squeeze into a small candle holder. We have some handy products to keep in your kit for just these purposes.

Candle Sharpener

If your taper candles are too large for your holder you can use a candle sharpener to shave off some of the wax at the bottom of the candle. 

Candle Glue

If you're having trouble with your candles wobbling around in your candlestick you can use candle glue to help hold the candle in place.  

Wick Trimmer

Although this tool won't help your candles stay in place it is very handy to have around the house to keep those candle wicks trimmed to an ideal height.
