Jute floor rug in herringbone weave.
Bring natural warmth and texture into your home with a jute floor rug. Our Herringbone jute rug is hand-woven from renewable and biodegradable fibres, with a natural, chemical-free latex rubber backing to help strengthen the finished rug. Due to the handwoven nature of these rugs, slight size variations and imperfections in the weave are to be expected, lending a lovely relaxed feel to the style of the rug. Jute rugs are well suited to a range of interior styles from coastal and Hamptons, to farmhouse, and contemporary living. Suitable for use indoors only, with best results in low-traffic areas including bedrooms and living spaces.
Multiple sizes available. See options above to select your ideal size.
Please note: These rugs are handmade, and therefore slight size variation is to be expected. Please allow for up to a 5% variation in the size of your rug. Natural fibres produce varying results in colour and texture. Imperfections in the colour of the fibres, and in the weave are to be expected and are not considered to be faults.

How to choose the right size rug for your space.
Your floor rug should be generous enough to allow for furniture to be comfortably arranged on and around it.
When in doubt, go larger rather than smaller for a room that looks thoughtfully designed. Need help choosing a size? See our Rug Size Guide for lots of handy tips.
We strongly recommend carefully measuring your home to ensure that your new floor rug will not only fit into its intended new home, but can be manoeuvred easily into position taking into account the size of doorways, stairways, elevators etc.
How to care for your rug.
Jute is a natural fibre, and therefore requires additional care and maintenance to keep it looking its best.
For ongoing maintenance of your rug, we recommend the following...
Keep your rug out of direct sunlight.
Rotate your rug often to even out any discolouration.
To prevent dust and crumbs from settling into your rug, vacuum regularly and/or shake. Beater bar vacuums are not recommended. Take care with brush attachments.
Spot clean with cool, soapy water. Blot spills immediately with a white cloth. Do not bleach, use harsh chemicals or scrub. If needed, spray with a hose, to prevent mildew and mould, hang the rug to dry thoroughly.
Do not machine wash. Do not tumble dry.
Use rug protectors under heavy furniture.
Recommended for use in low-traffic indoor areas only.
Please note that natural fibres are more prone to staining than synthetic fibres.
If your home is a busy one with children and pets, please consider carefully before purchasing this rug.
See our jute rug care guide for more information.
Colour variation
Actual colours may vary.
We take great care when photographing and editing our product images to ensure they reflect the true colours of the piece. Please be aware colours can look different from one screen to another. Colours can also appear differently when the item is in your home due to different lighting conditions and colours surrounding the rug. Natural fibres produce varying results in colour and texture. Imperfections in the colour of the fibres, and in the weave are to be expected. These are not considered to be faults.
To ensure you have the best possible experience we strongly encourage you to purchase a sample before ordering your rug. Samples can be returned for a full refund or credit towards the purchase of a larger rug.
These sample pieces allow you to see the rug in its intended space to properly experience the colours, materials and patterns. In this case, our sample size is the 60x90cm doormat size rug.
Any purchases made without a previous sample purchase will not be able to be returned due to colour variation. For more information on our sample rugs, please contact us on 02 9555 1545, or email us at shop@pepperwhites.com.au
Returns Policy for Rugs
Please consider where you intend to place your rug. Rugs are intended to be placed on hard floors only. Do not place rugs on on carpeted floors where the rug will move, kick up and not sit flat. We will not accept returns where rugs have been placed in situations where the floors are carpeted or not perfectly flat and firm.
Your rug will be ordered especially for you when you make your purchase as we don't hold all rug styles and sizes in store. As a general rule, we do not accept any returns on special order items. However, we want you to love the rug you buy from us so we have amended these rules for rug purchases.
If you change your mind you may return the rug to us for a store credit only. If you require a refund this will incur a 20% restocking fee.
The rug must be returned to us in unused "as new" condition.
The return of the rug and any costs associated with its return is the responsibility of the customer.
