Choosing the right linen cushion colour for your home depends on your aesthetic and what else you have featured in the space.
If you have an artwork you love above the sofa let that inspire your linen cushion colour choice. If you’re looking to mix and match your cushions with some more textural or patterned cushions you might like to look at those first and choose linen cushions that compliment the cushions with dominant designs.
Our block print cushions and coloured linen cushions have been carefully curated and designed to work well together.
Natural coloured linen cushions like our Husk or Flax cushions are a great neutral base while also creating a bit of warmth.
If you have more of a fresh, clean look in mind you might like to start with a white linen cushion.

Once you have a base of linen cushions you can add some fun and interest with a block print cushion or maybe a textured cushion. Your linen cushions will complement just about any statement piece you choose. Linen cushions for bed

Styling a bed with linen cushions gives a lovely welcoming feel when you retire to bed at the end of a long day.
Start by choosing a mix of linen cushions in different sizes and colours. Also, consider mixing in cushions with some pattern or texture.
Arrange your cushions in layers.
Start with your largest cushions against the headboard of your bed. This creates a strong base for your cushion arrangement. Our 60x60cm cushions are ideal for this.
Place your regular pillows in front of these large linen cushions.
From here you can layer the smaller linen cushions like our 50x50cm or 40x60cm cushions in front of your standard pillows. Consider using both square and rectangle cushions to add dimension. 
As previously mentioned we always recommend mixing your linen cushions with patterned cushions to create more of a visual story. Perhaps consider two square block printed cushions with two large plain linens and a rectangular linen in front.
Styling a bed isn’t all about the cushions. Consider adding a throw blanket or a decorative quilt at the foot of the bed. Not only do they look great, but they are also very practical, adding extra warmth when needed. 

How to care for and clean linen cushions

Our linen cushions are called “everyday linen” for a reason. Not only do they have a lovely relaxed finish they’re also machine washable.
Cleaning linen cushion covers is fairly simple. Here’s our recommendation for getting the best out of your cushions.
Remove the cushion cover before washing.
Wash with like colours in a gentle, cold machine wash.
To avoid any fold lines and wrinkles lie your cushion cover flat to dry. Do not tumble dry. If you would like to iron your cushion cover it’s best to turn them inside out and iron on the reverse. Use a pressing cloth to protect the fabric from direct contact with the iron.
If you would prefer not to clean your linen cushions yourself you can also have them dry cleaned.
As linen is a natural fibre it can fade over time when exposed to direct sunlight.
Place your cushions away from windows or use curtains or blinds to filter out harsh sunlight and protect the fabric from fading.
We do not recommend linen cushions for use outdoors.
Occasionally, remove the cushions from their covers and air them out in a well-ventilated area to refresh the fabric and eliminate any odours. Avoid exposing them to moisture or humidity, as this can promote mould or mildew growth.

How to care for a feather cushion insert

Our linen cushions all come with a feather insert unless you choose to purchase the cover only. Feather inserts can become compressed with use, so it's important to fluff them regularly to restore their loft and shape. Give the cushions a good shake and gently massage the feathers to distribute them evenly throughout the insert.
Occasionally, remove the cushions from their covers and air them out in an area with lots of fresh air. This can help to prevent moisture build up and keep your cushions smelling fresh.
Feather inserts can be professionally cleaned once or twice a year to help them maintain their freshness.
